The TLGTA exists to promote interest and participation in tennis among Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender men and women; to encourage fellowship among its members in an athletic environment; and to foster support and interest from the entire community. By being a member of the TLGTA, you are bound by our Terms of Membership, Code of Conduct, and Constitution and Bylaws. The TLGTA reserves the right to update these terms at any time.
In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Toronto Lesbian & Gay Tennis Association (TLGTA) athletic/sports program, related events and TLGTA activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
Members of the Toronto Lesbian & Gay Tennis Association (TLGTA) are expected to conduct themselves in a positive manner that demonstrates good sportsmanship. They must show respect for other members, for non-members who come in contact with the organization, and for the game of tennis itself. Whenever conducting business for the TLGTA or participating in any of its activities, members are under an obligation to realize that their actions may impact the reputation of the organization either positively or negatively.
The TLGTA Board reserves the right to revoke the membership of any member it deems to have acted in such a way as to shed a negative light on the organization or has been disruptive to the function of the league. After committing a violation, you may be removed with or without a warning.
Any TLGTA members conducting official or unofficial business for the organization, including but not limited to board members, volunteer coordinators, event managers, and event staff, must adhere to the highest ethical standards while engaging in said business.
All members are expected to treat each other with respect. Members should act in a positive way off the court as well.
